Jazz Mural - Day 3 - All suited up!

Today I worked on the Jazz mural again, as you can see. The focus today was on blocking in the suits and highlighting instruments. Tomorrow will be the last day, and I will fine tune the instruments and finish up the hands.

I also decided that the background was a little plain so I experimented with some shapes and came up with a simple oval to frame in the players. The client's room colors are blues, greys and purples/magentas/rose.this is what I came up with:

Well, today I got the instruments in place. Still of course need to add highlights and more color, but will wait till the suits are blocked in.
Next day - Tuesday.

Day 1 - Jazz mural

Today I started the Jazz themed mural at a private residence in Redding, Ca.

Yeahooo! A mural commission! Oooh, how I love to paint large!

"The Hills are Alive" commission

I just completed this acrylic painting today. It is a commission for a singing teacher in Redding, Trish Harris, with Trish Harris' Studio of Voice.

Amazing teacher, amazing moment captured forever on canvas. The original photograph was taken by Robyn Reeves Tyler.
